As we look forward to our next Alpha Course in September, Pastor Steve Jones shares how there is a season change for the Christian faith happening in our nation and in our city. Reading from Mark 10, Steve encourages us to love our neighbours well, to be like Jesus, to stop in our busyness and listen to those in need, and look out for those who are starting to express faith.

In the first week of this new series, Steve Jones looks at Romans 12.4–8, leads us in a game of bingo, and suggests 25 reasons for being part of a Community Group!

This Sunday, we will remind ourselves of what God has been speaking to us about recently, hear testimonies from the last couple of weeks, take communion together, and spend some time praying for our church and our city.

Having argued that Jesus is our Great High Priest, Hebrews goes further. He is not simply the priest, but also the sacrifice. In this talk, Steve Jones looks at Hebrews 10, considering how Christ’s sacrifice is able to achieve what the others could not, and how we ought to live as a result.

Why might we long to give all that we have to God? In this talk, Steve Jones looks at two passages (Philippians 4:18-10; Ephesians 5:1-2) and shows us how giving is all about love, as we offer ourselves and all that we have to God, and how this offering is beautiful and fragrant.

How can we have confidence that our hope is secure? Is it possible to lose our salvation? What should we make of the warning passages in Scripture? In this talk, Steve Jones grapples with some of these questions and looks at what it means for Jesus to be our steadfast anchor behind the veil.  

This Sunday, we are celebrating our 40th Birthday! We're going to look back at what God has done over the past 4 decades, and look forward to all He has in store for the future.

After the service there will be loads of activities, and we'll be celebrating together until 3pm. Here's how you can join in:

• Lunch - We will be having a bring and share lunch and we'd love you to help us create a feast fit for our 40th! If your surname begins with A-M we'd suggest bringing something savoury, and if your surname begins N-Z you could bring something sweet. Please label food with allergens.
• Bake Off - We will also be having a Great OCC Bake Off!! So budding bakers, do bring along your creations! This is open to all ages, so you can enter as a family and include kids, and there will be prizes. Please register here.

Although Jesus is the exalted one, Hebrews tells us he was made lower than the angels, suffering and tasting death for us. In this talk, Steve Jones looks at Hebrews 2, and considers how Jesus took on flesh to bring us into his family.  

The church is not meant to be a static (or dwindling) thing. Rather, it is meant to be a place of growth and life. In this talk, Steve Jones considers how churches grow, and how we can partner with God in being a fruitful field.

Throughout the Bible, God’s people are depicted as a flock of sheep under the care of a shepherd. In this talk, Steve Jones explores both God’s desire for His church as a precious flock, and also His vision for healthy and godly leadership.
