Renew Oxford

The pandemic has uncovered and exacerbated society's deep needs: loneliness, isolation, inequality, and food poverty, to name a few. As churches and followers of Jesus, we have a role to play in serving and caring for our city. We need to ask, how can we be good news for Oxford?

Renew Oxford is an initiative started by Oxford Community Church, in partnership with Love Oxford Churches.

Our first event took place in June 2022. The day included talks, seminars, prayer and networking.  You can catch up on the day here.

In November 2022 we hosted another event, with keynote speaker John Drew, Director of Staff Experience and Engagement (NHS England), focused on rebuilding hope and renewing vision for health and social care. you can catch up on what happened here.

We are hosting an event in June 2023, where we look forward to reporting on progress achieved during the last year, and together asking ‘what next?’

The prophet Jeremiah famously called God’s people to “seek the peace (shalom) of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf.” We want to continue in that calling today, led and energised by the Spirit of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
