Church Vision Evening (part 2)

By On behalf of the Elders

On Sunday 26th March, we had the second of our vision evenings. You can listen to the recording of the evening here.

We started off spending time reflecting on the feedback received from the first vision evening, where we reflected on three areas: our vision of 'Boundless Renewal', our community groups, and becoming a more intercultural church.

Boundless Renewal

By Steve Jones

On 11 December 2022 Steve Jones introduced the phrase 'boundless renewal', as part of a longer talk available here

OCC is a church, founded on the Word and the Spirit, and committed to boundless renewal: that is, personal renewal that leads to renewal in the world around us.

Seeds and embers

By Andy O'Connell

At last night's student night and Bunch combined prayer evening it was a privilege to hear from Jack (an overseas worker, sent and supported by OCC) about his team's work in Central Africa, with the Muslim refugee tribe they are seeking to connect with and serve. Alongside schooling and home-schooling their 4 children, Jack and Claire lead a team of 10 committed to learning the local tribal language, developing a dictionary, developing media in the local language, Bible translation, and drilling water wells.

Forward Together!

By Sanjay Mahtani (on behalf of the Elders)

September is here, a new year has a begun! Perhaps more than usual this year, the autumn can be a time of particular hope, vision, and expectation. As people move to Oxford during Sept-Oct, it’s our habit to take a few weeks looking at our vision as a church. But this autumn, we’re spending four weeks looking at both vision and money. Why would we do that?!

Investing in our Future - Gift Days 2021

By Andy O'Connell (on behalf of the Elders)

In 21-22 we want to invest in development / growth / breakthrough, especially in our four Future Focus goals.

To do this we want to invest in releasing more time from some members of staff and leadership, in order that they can increase their focus. Ideally, we want to increase capacity (time) for these people. If you're not sure who's who, look here

Church: for the world, not (just) our parish

By Andy O'Connell

A quick read of the New Testament shows us a picture of a mobile and dynamic church. A church committed to each other, but also to making an impact in their towns and cities, and to the task of reaching the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

What We Did On Our Holidays

By Al McNicoll

We hope you're having a fantastic holiday so far! If you're a fresher who's investigating OCC, if you're away from home for a while, or if we don't have your address, then you won't have had the actual letter that we sent out about a week ago. What follows is the letter we sent out (minus the exciting goodies).
