The Bible describes the Christian community as a household (Eph 2:19), a body (1 Cor 12:12-31), and a temple made up of “living stones” (1 Pet 2:45, Eph 2:21). All of these speak of our unity and need for each other.
Paul asked the Philippian church to be one in heart and mind and purpose (Phil 2:2).
The process of exploring church membership allows you to learn about the way that current church members relate to one another (heart), what we believe (mind) and what we are focused on (purpose).
If you've been around OCC for more than few months, we recommend you get along to the next Exploring Membership evening, to understand more about what we stand for - our vision and values.

Steve Jones, our senior pastor teaches this week on leadership in the church. Sanjay and Jenny Mahtani host the meeting with Hannah Robertshaw and Elizabeth Clayton leading us in worship.
On Christmas day we will host a brief Christmas service on Zoom.
Zoom all-age service, here from 11.00-11.30am. The Zoom call will be hosted by the Mahtani family.
(Unfortunately, we have CANCELLED our onsite Christmas Day service at The King's Centre. Because of the excellent Oxford Christmas Lunch [see below] being hosted in our building, our service was due to be in a smaller side room, which seemed increasingly inappropriate due to rising Covid rates. We have therefore decided to move our Christmas service fully online.)
The Oxford Christmas Lunch, supported by the Oxford Food Hub, will again be using The King's Centre to produce their annual Christmas lunch. This year, lunch will be served at TKC, and volunteers will also be delivering 'take-away' food to the more vulnerable people across the city. If you would like to help by preparing, serving, entertaining or delivering meals please contact Sara or you can donate here.
Everyone is welcome to join us for our Christmas Sunday Service with guest speaker Liam Thatcher, you can find out more about Liam here. We will be serving mince pies, fruit and hot drinks from 10.30am followed by an all-age, interactive Christmas service.
Click the link below to download an invite and ask a friend to join you.
Please note that face coverings are now a legal requirement and we will be enforcing social distancing, especially during refreshments. Please continue to follow government advice to lateral-flow test twice weekly, and do not attend services if you have Covid, are awaiting test results, or have been asked to self-isolate. Thank you
Sanjay Mahtani speaks to us about how we are sanctified through Christ. Andrew and Georgina Clark lead the meeting with Hannah Robertshaw and Elizabeth Clayton leading us in worship.
This week, we are excited to have Jeremy Blakey preaching to us, he continues our series 'Light in the Darkness' as we enter into Advent. Sanjay and Jenny Mahtani are leading the meeting, with Dan Woolnough and Elizabeth Clayton leading us in worship.
We will also be dedicating two young children of one of our member families, as part of the service.
Through September, we spent four weeks looking together at money! We walked with Jesus towards Jerusalem, looking at four stories about money in Luke 19-21. We considered our attitude in giving, the aim of our giving, the amount we give, and what God does when we use our money for His Kingdom. Through it all, we remembered that we give because God is the ultimate giver - for God so loved the world that He GAVE Jesus!
Lois Fulton wraps up our 'Unforced Rythms' series this week with Sanjay Mahtani and Jo Male hosting the meeting. Worship is led by Hannah Robertshaw and Elizabeth Clayton.
September is here, a new year has a begun! Perhaps more than usual this year, the autumn can be a time of particular hope, vision, and expectation. As people move to Oxford during Sept-Oct, it’s our habit to take a few weeks looking at our vision as a church. But this autumn, we’re spending four weeks looking at both vision and money. Why would we do that?!
Steve Jones wraps up our FORWARD TOGETHER series with Sanjay Mahtani & Jo Male leading the meeting. Worship is lead by Bex Lawton and we will be breaking bread together during the service.
