Christmas often involves a lot of rushing around - madly finishing up at work before putting on your out of office, running from shop to shop to buy Christmas presents and driving around the UK to get from one family to the next. But what we love about Christmas most, once all the rushing has finished, is stopping and finding time to get outside and enjoy God's creation. We are fortunate that we live next to Shotover Country Park and our families both live in the countryside too so Christmas often involves a walk or three. Last year we were blessed with beautiful snow and magical scenery to walk through. It's rare that December actually looks like what we see on the front of the Christmas cards we send to one another but this photo is a reminder that those scenes can be reality, if only we stop and be still for long enough to catch the little red robin sitting on the holly bush in front of you.
